Cinco_de_mayo

With Cinco De Mayo coming up this Thursday, we thought we would share some of the best Mexican joints in Nashville to get you ready for the fiesta!

Baja Burrito

If you are addicted to Chipotle, you must try the local favorite, Baja Burrito. Located in Berry Hill and started in 2000, Baja Burrito is an authentic, locally-owned, independent burrito shop. Set up the same way as Chipotle, where you order either a burrito, taco, salad or ect., and you go down the fast moving line to tell the cheerful staff what you would like inside or on top, but with a more local and fully authentic flare. Be sure to try the Baja fruit tea and queso.

Saint Anejo

Located in the Gulch, you will find a trendy, high-end Mexican restaurant. Saint Anejo offers inspired Mexican cuisine and Latin mixology and a premium tequila bar. The cocktail list cannot be passed up and how could you when their list includes craft margaritas like a pineapple-cilantro margarita and cocktails with fresh, exotic botanicals. Imagine a full, delicious meal starting with Mexican street corn then hot chicken tacos with a chipotle-honey glaze and finish it off with Horchata bread pudding. Saint Anejo has open sliding windows that lead out to the outdoor patio making for a great indoor-outdoor feel that attracts many.

The Local Taco

With 3 locations in East Nashville, Sylvan Park and Brentwood, the Local Taco is a unique and eclectic taco restaurant. It mixes tex-mex cuisine and southern home cooking making it a taco joint unlike any other. Aside from delicious tacos that you can mix and match like the spicy shrimp, local BBQ and southern fried tacos, the sides are to die for. The sides at local taco are sides you will not see anywhere else. Mexican tater tots, local hot sauce turnip greens, ham hock pinto beans and queso cauliflower just to name a few. Also make sure to order a margarita made with fresh lime

juice and agave nectar which are just $4 on Wednesday’s.

Taco Mamacita

Taco Mamacita is conveniently located in Edgehill Village and is a great place to play, eat and hangout. With an array of unique and delicious taco choices and margaritas that will not disappoint, Taco Mamacita is “fresh-mex” at its finest. Some mouthwatering taco favorites include the Korean BBQ, the Memphis, Sloppy Jose, and Shrimp Po’boy BLT. Whether you are a regular or a first-time guest, Taco Mamacita will make you feel at home.
