Fun Things to Do On Your Staycation: The Nashville Farmer's Market

The Nashville Farmer’s Market is far more than its name suggests. Since its humble beginning as a few farmers selling their goods in the town square in the 1800’s, it is now located near Centennial Park and has grown into a staple of the Nashville community, with three distinct branches.

It always provide fresh and delicious produce directly from the local farmer’s hand to yours, in a venue known as the South Farm Sheds. The most fruitful season is around May-November, although you may purchase produce, canned goods and other preservatives like homemade jam and honey all year round.

Another staple of the Farmer’s Market is the Market House, which contains 15 restaurants and shops that provide a large variety of prepared food for its customers, including gourmet pizza, Chinese, Mexican, Jamaican, Indian, Greek, cajun and so much more. There’s something for everyone! Also, if you enjoy cooking or want to learn some new dishes, the Grow Local Kitchen, just opened last year in the Market House, offers culinary classes as well as other special event in its community kitchen space. They always feature ingredients provided by the market to promote support for the local farmers.

While both Market House and South Farm Sheds are open seven days a week, swing by Friday-Sunday to visit the incredible Flea Market. As many as 50 merchants take up shop there, selling their beautiful handmade pottery, jewelry, clothing, home goods and more.

So this summer go enjoy the delicious food, fresh produce and beautiful crafts! The Nashville Farmer’s Market is wonderful way to spend a day out with family and friends and feel like you’re a part of the thriving Nashville community.

Financing Made Easy: Legacy Lending Group

A new survey by the National Association of Realtors suggests that for a majority of

renters, homeownership is one of their highest priorities. Indeed, in many parts of Middle

Tennessee it’s less expensive to own than to rent, and home ownership is a great way to

begin to build financial independence.

Although interest rates have moved up more than a full percentage point from their

lowest levels about six months ago, they are still at historically low levels.

Is it a good time to buy or sell? In any market climate it’s the top question I get asked.

I usually say, “Yes, but it depends.” I consider the current conditions and offer my best

advice, because every situation is unique. But the more important question is, “Is the

time right for you?” Not everyone has the luxury of time. Jobs change, children grow

up, you grow out of your current home, and children move back in – sometimes it’s more

a matter of space or location needs. We can help you work with that. It is important to

us that we meet you where you are and determine the best financing options and loan

terms that we can. We have all the great programs you would expect as well as some

incredible in-house products like construction, home equity and common sense portfolio

loans only available through a small local bank.

If you are currently renting and would like to take the first steps toward home

ownership, give our team of experts at Legacy Lending Group a call. We specialize in

first time homebuyers and would be happy to walk you through the various steps and

options currently available to you.

This year they asked Bob Parks Realty to help them gather Christmas presents to give to all of their children, many of whom are not in a permanent living situation this holiday season, and we happily obliged!
